HTC has not been very successful selling flagship phones to mainstream consumer smartphones lately, but the company now hopes that crypto enthusiasts will keep it afloat a little longer. The previously announced Exodus smartphone is available for pre-order. Of course, you can not buy this unique blockchain phone with cryptocurrency.
If you take an Exodus, HTC says you can keep your cryptocurrency and other digital products (such as cryptocurrencies) safe from theft. The pre-order page includes our first glimpse of the actual phone, as well as a datasheet. One thing is immediately apparent – it looks a lot like the HTC U12 + that was launched during the summer. Since the 845's U12 + already has the necessary hardware for a trusted area of the blockchain, this phone could simply be a renowned U12 + with a different software.
The Exodus is an unlocked GSM / LTE phone, which will run Android Oreo at launch. HTC has not said anything about security or operating system updates, but hopefully it will keep its secure blockchain phone up-to-date. To secure your phone, it will cost you 0.15 Bitcoins or 4.78 Etherium. Both cost about $ 950 at current exchange rates. That's a lot more than the current price of $ 800 on the U12 +. HTC says that Exodus will be available in December of this year.
