Huawei's new artificial intelligence speaker looks familiar

[ad_1]

Huawei revealed a new speaker on the AI during its Mate 20 event in China today, via Engadget. Its design is obviously similar to that of the Apple HomePod, with mute, call and volume control buttons above its cylindrical body and dark gray cloth covering. This is Huawei's second smart speaker. Last month he unveiled his Alexa-compatible AI Cube, which looks like an extended Google Home and does not have the shape of a cube at all.

Unlike the AI Cube, however, the Huawei AI speaker (that's how its Chinese name translates approximately) uses its proprietary voice assistant Xiaoyi. It's also a lot cheaper than the Apple HomePod at $ 350, at 399 yuan (about $ 60). There are still no plans for a global version, so we have to wait to see if Huawei will add voice support in English.

The loudspeaker for artificial intelligence uses audio technology from the Danish company Dynaudio. It is also associated with Huawei's "Histen" algorithm, found on Huawei phones. The 10-inch high-fidelity 10W speaker features six microphones and voiceprint recognition to distinguish the voices of different family members. It comes in two colors, gray and white.
