Digital Trends announced last week that the first users of RTX 2080 Ti were facing dieback problems. We published the thermal data of our 2080 Ti at the revision date and found that the GDDR6 thermal never exceeded 81 degrees Celsius on the hottest module. Up to now, our reddit thread has collected about 5 samples of 2080 Ti dead, at the time of publishing this video. We are always looking for more to try to find a correlation between component serial numbers, PCBs, GPU markers and behavior. We will also try to determine if the problem is thermal in nature by throwing cards into the air or using waterblocks, as this will eliminate the chiller from the equation. Intel Poaches Even more AMD talent
Darren McPhee now joins AMD's growing list of former talents that Intel has recruited to launch its discrete GPU business. According to McPhee's Twitter, he joined Intel as director of product marketing for Discrete Graphics.
McPhee joined AMD when the company acquired ATI Technologies and assumed the role of Product Manager. McPhee is in good company, with Raja Koduri, Chris Hook and Jim Keller, both formerly of AMD. Technical analyst and former technical critic Ryan Shrout also joined the ranks, leaving PC Per as Chief Strategist at Intel.

Prices for SSDs could reach $ 0.08 per GB in 2019
In a new Digitimes report, NAND Prices should continue their downward trend in 2019. This is probably not news for those who have followed our HW News installments. However, what is The news is that projections predict that prices will be as low as 0.08 cents per GB.

Rumor: 590 RX faster against 1060, could release in November
Rumors are circulating about the latest AMD refresh and we reported the rumor on the RX 590 last week after it arrived in the 3DMark database. Now the RX 590 has appeared on the Square Enix Final Fantasy XV scorecard.
At different resolutions, the RX 590 is between 6 and 9% faster than the competing GTX 1060 6GB. This seems like a more realistic performance than other rumors, even if the Final Fantasy XV reference is far from ideal.
In addition, the RX 590 could be released in November for a price of $ 300. Rumors and leaks have suggested a reduction of 12 nm, but no change in architecture. This means slightly higher clocks and energy efficiency would be the main upgrade.

TSMC currently manufactures Intel Celeron, Atom, and Pentium processors
DigiTimes reports that, in the context of a manufacturing crisis, Intel is moving its low-end SKUs to TSMC. This comes after Intel announced that TSMC would manufacture some of their low-end chipsets to free up fabulous space for high-demand 14nm silicon. As TechPowerUp notes, Digitimes does not specifically mention that TSMC has the parts manufacturing facility, but TSMC is currently the only one that meets Intel's criteria.

ASUS launches new TUF Gaming laptops
ASUS takes pre-orders for its latest series of TUF playbooks. These models are the TUF FX505 and TUF FX705. It is interesting to note that the two new models are compliant with MIL-STD-810G, which is a military test standard that requires devices to withstand extreme conditions.
As such, ASUS says new laptops can withstand solar radiation, altitude and extreme weather conditions. The new TUF models will be delivered with Coffee Lake mobile parts, 144Hz IPS panels and GTX 10 GPUs. See the product pages for more specifications.

Walmart is trying to break into the personal computer market
Walmart, which does not wish to be excluded from any market, has partnered with ESports Arena to launch its own range of gaming PCs on the market. Dubbed Powerful, Walmart's line of gaming machines will include a desktop computer and a pair of laptops.
