Microsoft and 343 Industries has revealed some concept art for Halo Infinite.

The art depicts a scene that looks very familiar to any Halo fan – UNSC installations and vehicles set against the imposing mountains and lakes, originally inspired by Bungie 's local scenery in Seattle.

As concept art goes, we find it interesting that there is a lot on how – we 're hoping we' re on the road. up in Bungie's earlier work.

Halo Infinite: Everything we know so far

Since E3 2018, and the unveiling of the title Halo: Infinite, we have managed to collect some information about what we can see in the next edition of Master Chief's adventures.

"This is an entirely new chapter in the Halo saga," Aaron Greenberg, general manager of marketing at Xbox, explained an interview with Geoff Keighley on YouTube Live.

"What we did was an in-engine demonstration. The Slipspace engine is new. The 343 team has built this purposefully to take Halo in a new direction.

"It's a story that centers on Master Chief." It's a new Halo coming, it's a new one. Halo Infinite and it features a focus on Master Chief, which I think will be received by the fans. "

The game will carry on the events of the story from Halo 5 and will be a bigger, bolder step for the series.

Halo Infinite IS Halo 6

"It is Halo 6," 343's Jeff Easterling has confirmed a recent Mixer broadcast. "You should just consider it Halo 6. Do not think it's a prey kind of thing, it's the next story.

That will be reassuring to anyone with the Master Chief, Cortana, The Covenant and the rest of the expansive space rock opera.

We know the game will round on Halo 5 and focus more on Mastering this time, sidelining Agent Locke and doubling down on Chief – who is, after all, arguably Microsoft's most iconic character.

Halo Infinite – Release Date

Most Halo games have had three-year development cycles – and that would mean the cycle would wrap up this year [2018] for Halo 6, assuming that logic could be applied to the new game – that would be a late 2018 release date.

However, since Microsoft has kept everything completely under wraps we think about this stage that's quite unlikely.

The most realistic date of release could be early 2019, as Sony have done in recent years to great success, such as Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War. But even then, we're less than hopeful.

2019 Expect more information soon.

Halo Infinite – Beta

Microsoft staffers have made comments that sound like we can expect a beta for Infinite Halo to come in the coming months (or, more likely, years).

"In the future, you will be able to join the world of the game.", And give direct feedback, much like the current Insider flighting program for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, "343 staffer Chris Lee said in a blog post.

Infinite Halo – Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Halo's game in January, from Xbox Boss Phil Spencer no less.

The head of Xbox announced in an interview with the Verge that the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will be added at the same time they are available on the Microsoft Store or at retail.

This is so big news and new titles such Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 and State of Decay, which are all slated to release this year, will actually cost less to play for a month than the cost of a pint in some London pubs.

Xbox Game Pass is quickly becoming a sort of 'Netflix for gaming' on Microsoft's Xbox One family of consoles.

"The number one request from our customers … was to get new blockbuster games into Game Pass," explains Spencer to The Verge.

Spencer then added that the company will continue to offer exclusive Microsoft exclusive services.

"Not just those games, but our future Halos, our future Gears of War, future Forzas, and other games. Our plan is to launch those to our Game Pass subscribers at the same time they go to retail. "

Exciting times ahead, though if we know Halo fans, you'll probably want to buy the game, rather than renting it until the end of eternity.

Halo Infinite – Development Update

Halo Infinite is looking like a bigger game than we first thought.

It was revealed this week (July 19th 2018) that Halo Infinite will be developed by long-time Halo Studio 343 Industries, but also by Halo 5: Forge and Project SkyBox Spark developer.

"343 Industries is excited to continue our partnership with SkyBox Labs on Halo Infinite, with their team doing great work over many areas of our project," notes 343 Industries' Halo boss Chris Lee.

Shyang Kong, of SkyBox, was also enthusiastic about the project:

"We have been working with 343 Industries on Halo projects for a number of years, and we're thrilled to be part of this exciting time in Halo's history."

Apparently, SkyBox will be able to extend beyond the forge this year, extending to work on AI, gameplay, visuals, and networking – to all intents and purposes, SkyBox will be doing a lot of development work on the game.

Halo Infinite: Development history

It's been almost two years since Halo 5 launched, and the 2015 title left fans of a lot of questions about the future of Microsoft's flagship franchise.

Since Halo 5's launch, we've heard about the future of the franchise proper – granted, we saw the release of Halo Wars 2 earlier this year, but as far as the 'main' game series goes, Microsoft and developer 343 Industries have it left quite tight-lipped.

So what is the status of Halo 6? The next proper game in the series is most certainly in the works, but not an awful lot is known about the game.

Thanks to the intrepid work of NeoGAF user dancrane212, we can see that the length of time between Halo 5's launch and the lack of a Halo 6 announcement is now the longest such gap in Halo history.

Announcements have traditionally occurred in one and a half years of the previous game's launch – and with Halo 5 we're approaching the two-year mark since release.

But that is not to say the game is not in development – developers have stated that many times that happening with the series, it's just not enough to have a title or release date for the game just yet.

Halo Infinite: Development history continued

O'Connor later goes on to explain the future of the multiplayer facet of the game has been shaped by Halo 5's reception: "Halo 5's core MP is a thing that would be refined and tuned in the future, not rebooted, reinvented or reset .That does not preclude any number of improvements, additions or methods of play, but the team does recognize the core strengths, and extensibility of the current MP tune. "

Finally Halo game 'will be the biggest yet' and 'the new game is going to be ridiculous' (likely thanks to the power of the Xbox One X which is also mentioned in the posting).

All of this paints a picture of a game that is coming through the development process healthily, that is slowly but surely being pieced together as the Xbox One X approaches its launch date.

We're still not closer to knowing when Halo is going to launch, but we do not know it's going to be a big game.

September 2 News – 343 Industries has pushed the final major for Halo: Masterchief Collection on Xbox One.

The game – which came out almost four years ago! – was a controversial topic at the time of release thanks to issues with matchmaking, content and bugs. But since release, the title has gotten itself into pretty good shape.

This week marked the final update for the game – including 4K and HDR compatibility for the title.

"MCC also now utilizes dedicated servers in Microsoft global datacenters for all Matchmaking game sessions to provide more stability, reliability, and consistency," blog post on Halo Waypoint notes. "Within the game you'll see what your average time is for each of the data centers. "

Expect more updates on the new Infinite Halo from here on out.

Halo Infinite – Xbox One X Upgraded

Halo 6 will run on the Xbox One X at a resolution of 4K with a framerate of 60FPS according to a report from Gamerant.

A job posting at 343 Studios – the development studio behind the game – has a position for a Lead Graphics Engineer who has a passion for "stunning 60 Hz 4K graphics".

The listing also requests a staffer that "will drive graphical innovation and produce amazing systems and visuals for our future FPS Halo experiences."

Though Microsoft has not yet confirmed the game's existence, it's highly unlikely.

Battle Royale Rumors

In a Halo 5-focused "social stream" hosted on Microsoft's Mixer platform earlier this week, 343 Industries writer Jeff Easterling cleared up some rumors regarding Battle Royale modes in Halo.

During the stream, a viewer asked: "Will there be royal battle in Halo Infinite?"

Easterling responded with a pithy: "I'll tell you right now, the only BR we're interested in is Battle Rifle, the original BR, so calm yourself."

That pretty much makes it look like there's a Battle Royale in Halo Infinite. Oddly enough, that's pretty much the biggest bit of info about the game – E3, we can not be sure about it … but you can be sure.

Martin O'Donnell to return?

A recent social media update of one of the most legendary composers has hinted at another new update for Halo Infinite.

Martin O'Donnell – composing the original Halo games and Halo Reach – recently posted a selfie on Twitter featuring himself, Jen Taylor and Joseph Staten.

Halo Talent: O'Donnell the Composer, Staten the Writer and Taylor the Voice of Cortana.

The whole world is in the picture and is very excited for hardcore Halo fans.
