Rumor has been circulating for some time now that the next generation Intel 9th or 9000 processors will work on Intel Z370 motherboards. Now we can finally stop the rumors because we finally have confirmation that the new Sandy Bridge S new processors such as the Intel Core i9 9900K or the i7 9700K will actually work on the Z370 chipset motherboards released in the fourth quarter of Last year.
The Z390 chipset is expected to arrive later this year as part of the Intel 9000 processor launch. If you plan to upgrade your CPU later this year, you do not need to upgrade this "old" Z370 motherboard because the Z390 does not offer many features or additional enhancements.
The confirmation that the 9th generation Intel processors would work on the Z370 chipset motherboards was provided by a Q & A video of Youtubers: Hardware Unboxed. Although we know that it will work, at this stage, no information on how it will work, or if ALL motherboards will work, or if a BIOS update is required for some cards.
