Intel i9-9900K benchmarks: 9 games tested, Intel's advance on AMD decreases

[ad_1]

AMD and Intel have clashed in the PC gaming market, but recently AMD's innovative and powerful products have pushed Intel back. Intel's response to the AMD Ryzen family is the i9-9900K, which offers better gaming performance. Intel markets it as "the world's best gaming processor".

Principled Technologies' benchmarks showed impressive performance, but the data was a major problem. For "consistency," the testers turned on the game mode on all Ryzen tokens. As a result, Intel had a significant advance on AMD's gaming performance. Principled Technologies, however, has published an updated version of its previous reports.

The new data still places AMD behind Intel, but the lead is not as big as it was originally.

Intel i9-9900K Benchmarks

Principled Technologies enabled the game mode while testing AMD Threadripper chips that allowed efficient game resource management. The test method is consistent with AMD's recommendations. But the problem is that Principled Technologies was also using game mode to test Ryzen 7 2700X. Enabling game mode on Ryzen 7 halves the number of cores, which greatly impairs chip performance.

Given the feedback from the technical community, we are pleased that Principled Technologies has performed additional tests. They have now published these results with even more details on the configurations used and their justification.

The results continue to show that the 9th generation Intel Core i9-9900K is the best gaming processor in the world. We are grateful for the time and transparency of Principled Technologies throughout this process. We always appreciate the feedback from the technical community and look forward to the full third party reviews to be published on October 19th.

Intel is still ahead of AMD, but there will always be skepticism in the air before the chips are launched. However, these results are more in line with what we have seen from many influencers on the internet.
