Intel processor shortage: worse before the end of the year
There are only a few weeks left before taking a closer look at Intel's new line of processors. As performance levels have been very challenging, there is growing concern about major supply issues within the company. Just a few weeks ago, we reported that rumors had emerged that, despite the imminent official release of the i9 9900k, the lack of production could mean that consumers could be pushed back until 2019.
Earlier this week, rumors again reported a major shortage of 14 million
Well, in a report via PCGamesN, it is official three times more men than a significant lack of chips 10 and 14 nm means that Intel is struggling to produce not only its brand new processors, but also the models existing.
Reminiscent of Tesla's recent problems
In the report, it is suggested that the Intel plant currently presents a major bottleneck. Specifically in terms of production due to the lack of these specific chipsets. This reminds me of the easier rumors this year that Tesla's factors literally had the tail of Model 3 to get on the production line.
With Intel expected to release their new processors at any time now, it's clear that this is not the best time to have problems. Especially not because of Ryzen's success and the fact that AMD deliberately delayed the release of its Ryzen 2800x processor to put it in direct competition with Intel.
Chances are that if you want a new Intel processor if you look hard enough, you will probably have one. There is however also the obvious possibility of having one that could be difficult until the new year. Maybe longer!
What do you think? Do you plan any of Intel's new processors? Which model do you plan to obtain? Are you concerned about potential delays? – Let us know in the comments!
