Remember when there was a stamp between Halloween and Christmas? No? Just me? Good conversation.
Apple does not waste time between public Betas this year! As a result of the public release of iOS 12.1, they released the iOS 12.1.1 to all members of the public beta program.
Although this minor version does not happen as often, beta fans can be reassured by the fact that release notes are back! Although it's a pity, we did not get them for iOS 12.1, because many features were hidden (like the inclusion of the potential limitation of the battery for iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X), a little transparency always makes testing easier .
What's up
That said, the biggest inclusion for iOS 12.1.1 does not even appear in the release notes! Even though Group Facetime has finally been released in iOS 12.1, it seems that Apple continues to refine its application. The UI has been updated so that the camera reversing and disabling icons appear along the bottom row of the application rather than hidden. Plus, if everyone is running the update, you can take Facetime Live Photos (which usefully provides a bit of context around the photo rather than just being a static image). You can disable the feature in Settings> Facetime> Live Photos.
What is broken
If you use VoiceOver, you may not be able to select a different voice than the default one.
What is fixed
As it is the third version of iOS 12, there is not a ton of bugs to fix yet. Which is good because Apple will have to focus on damage control now that new information on battery limitation is available.
And after
Let's be honest, this version being the .1 version of a .1 version, I do not expect much or no fireworks from iOS 12.1.1. I've been surprised to see even minor changes to applications, like with Facetime. This will probably be the biggest change we are seeing in this cycle.
Minor versions like this one tend to spin fast and be expelled quickly. We could easily see a public version of Thanksgiving, if not sooner, unless a major security bug comes up and Apple needs to create an emergency fix.
