I really liked my iPhone X.
For about a year, I was at the forefront of Apple's technology: I used Face ID to unlock my phone, I slipped to change apps, and I was ## 147 ## ############################################################################### I generally appreciated what Apple said was "the future of the smartphone".
Then, in September, my iPhone X was stolen and faced the possibility of a replacement of $ 1,000, which I degraded.
A colleague had a spare iPhone that I could borrow. I've opened my SIM card and it's been my girlfriend for a month.
It turns out that I love it more than my iPhone X. In fact, I was wondering what phone to replace for my lost iPhone X, and I could decide not to buy the new models this year – the iPhone XS and iPhone XR – and get an iPhone 8, released in 2017 and designed in the same way as the iPhone released in 2014.
It seems like the market is saying the same thing. Several reports last week suggest that Apple's iPhone XR is not selling as well as expected, and that Apple is curtailing production of its new model and increasing the number of units that it manufactures for the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.
After spending more than a month with the iPhone 8, I'm not surprised.
