This is perhaps the least sensational of the three new Apple iPhones ($ 916 on Amazon Marketplace) for 2018 when you look at the specs, but the iPhone XR (pronounced ten-R) is absolutely the most interesting – and it has nothing to do with its comparatively cheaper price. The iPhone XR starts at $ 749, £ 749 and $ 1,229 AU for the 64GB version, but check out the pricing chart and specifications below for all the concrete details.
The iPhone XR has a larger screen than the iPhone XS, the same A12 Bionic processor as the iPhone XS Max, which costs hundreds more and, although there is only one 12-megapixel camera on the glass of the XR, some software work with iOS 12 means you do not sacrifice pictures in portrait mode. Better still, the aluminum and glass iPhone XR displays a colorful personality: blue, yellow, coral and red (via Project Red), in addition to buttoned white and black.
In other words, Apple does not treat the iPhone XR as a lousy relationship. Although there are compromises in relation to the iPhone XS – which was introduced during our brief contact with the phone – the essential hardware specifications of the XR and a higher price signal the radical change of the Apple's strategy. This is the new iPhone for "ordinary people" who do not see their iPhone as a status symbol or perspiration details like a stainless steel body or 512GB or storage for photos and videos.
You can preorder the iPhone XR on October 19th; the phone goes on sale on October 26th.

Where the iPhone XR reduced from the iPhone XS
Screen technology: The 6.1-inch screen is fine, but its screen resolution is much lower than that of the iPhone XS and uses an LCD instead of the OLED. Side by side, the screen of the iPhone XR is duller and less clear. But remember, Apple has been using LCDs up to the iPhone X from last year, so longtime fans should not feel the need to rebel.
Single back lens instead of two: This is a big One 12 megapixel camera is on the back. It has the same upgraded technology as iPhone XS phones and you can take Bokeh portrait photos with the help of software. You can not zoom in as much, though, and you have less portrait lighting effects.
Storage options: You have storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. People storing albums on personal movie albums will prefer the 512GB option offered by the iPhone XS and XS Max.
Aluminum vs steel: The stainless steel sides surround the more expensive iPhones, but the iPhone XR is made with an aluminum frame, like many other phones on the market.
3D Touch: There is no more 3D Touch, which means you will not press to launch applications or view widgets. However, you can still launch the camera and flashlight application on the lock screen and feel some haptic vibration when you do it.
Subsequent sale date: While the iPhone XS devices will go on sale September 21 (pre-orders begin September 14), you can not buy the iPhone XR before October 26 (pre-order from October 19).
Where the iPhone XR seems to have the advantage
Battery life: We can not say for sure before testing the three new iPhones, but the iPhone XR could have a longer battery life than the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. Apple gave us cryptic advice like "it lasts 90 minutes longer than the iPhone 8 Plus". Since this phone has lasted longer than the iPhone X in CNET loop video tests (in airplane mode), we have at least a small idea that the XR could surpass Apple's more expensive iPhones.
Colorful identity: If you want your iPhone XS to be of a color other than gold, silver or black gray, you will have to buy a holster. With the iPhone XR, which comes in yellow, coral, blue and red as well as black and white, the color is already integrated into the phone (but you will probably want a clear case for your window phone anyway).
Price (duh): The iPhone XR is not cheap, but it is also not a $ 1,000 phone. If you want a 2018 iPhone (and not the iPhone 8, 8 Plus or iPhone 7), you can keep a little more money in the bank.
