Apple has begun shipping the first wave of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max smartphones to customers, and the first one has already been unmounted (with video footage). From the start, it's a bit harder to get into the new iPhone XS than the iPhone X of last year.

If you remember, the iPhone X is IP67 certified for its resistance to water and dust, while the iPhone XS family does so up to IP68. As a result, the seals that hold the screen in place are stronger, making removal more difficult (but not impossible).

The other thing to note is that last year 's L – shaped battery remains. However, even though there were two separate cells on the iPhone X, the battery of the iPhone XS seems to be a great unit. Speaking of battery, the capacity has actually decreased slightly compared to last year (2658 mAh against 2716 mAh). Despite the decrease in capacity, the efficiency made possible by the Soion Bionic 7nm SoC means that the iPhone XS actually has 30 minutes of additional performance compared to its predecessor.

This confirms the deposits of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (TENAA), which revealed yesterday that the iPhone XS had a battery of 2658 mAh. Although the iPhone XS Max is not yet screened, its TENAA filing suggests that it will have a battery of 3,174 mAh, the largest ever installed on an iPhone. However, even if it makes pale comparison with the Galaxy Note 9, which contains a 4000-mAh lithium-ion battery. The iPhone XR would have a battery of 2 942 mAh.

Further details from TENNA's archive show that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS both contain 4GB of RAM, while the entry-level iPhone XR contains only 3GB of RAM (the same as the one found on the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus).
