So you want to buy an iPhone XS, XS Max or iPhone XR and you do not know which one to get. Totally fair! The line of the iPhone this year is undoubtedly the most puzzling because the three new models are very close. The 5.8-inch iPhone XS and the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max have an almost identical hardware (the Max has a larger battery), but the iPhone XR 6.1 inch is just different enough to throw a monkey wrench into your purchase plans.
The iPhone XR has a single rear camera instead of two (no 2x optical zoom here), a comparatively lower resolution LCD instead of the OLED, and it lacks the option of 512GB storage of XS models. But before you scratch it off the list, note its many comparative advantages: its 6.1-inch screen is bigger than that of the standard iPhone XS (and the iPhone X from last year), and Apple claims to have the longest life of the three batteries.
It has the same fast processor, and this unique rear camera features a new software version of the portrait mode, this sophisticated reflex-style camera effect that blurs the backgrounds of the headshots. The XR is also available in fun and exclusive color choices.
Best of all, the iPhone XR starts at $ 250 less than the iPhone XS, making it the most affordable new iPhone in 2018. But here's the problem: while the XS models are available now, the iPhone XR will not arrive until October 26th. This is why we strongly recommend to iPhone buyers to wait until we have reviewed this model before making a final decision. We want to make sure that the value of the actual tests is as great as it looks like it is on paper.

If you have a really old iPhone and want the best option for your budget
A renovated iPhone 7 factory save you hundreds. Its software is as secure and up-to-date as the iPhone XS, and this flagship product of 2016 remains an above-average phone. (Tip: spend for the 128GB version. You'll thank us later.)
You could also get an iPhone SE, which is downright tricky compared to the iPhone XS and XS Max. Do not forget that you will have to buy it through carriers and other retailers. Apple has the fired – and the iPhone X – from the Apple store. It also has a relatively small price, selling for 350, 249 and 699 Australian dollars.
The iPhone XR brings a welcome touch of color to the iPhone range.

If you are not sold on the iPhone and want some alternatives
The best Android phones now include the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and galaxy Note 9. There is also the OnePlus 6 at a terrifying price. If you live outside the United States, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are excellent phones comparable to the best Samsung.
For the budget minded, the Motorola G6 and Moto E5 families offer exceptional value for money. And if you want a small phone, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is really the only way to decrease.

We have no less than four major global phone launches in October alone. These are all top-of-the-line handsets with the latest and most advanced specifications, probably in the camera department. the Pixel 3 Above all, the opportunity to make remarkable gains compared to the impressive Pixel 2 of last year. It's worth waiting to see if Google is able to repeat its photo magic, especially compared to the gains of Apple's iPhone XS cameras.
