Katamari Damacy finally turns to the switch

The most bizarre and probably the weirdest game ever, Katamari Damacy enters the Nintendo Switch. Praise the King of all the Cosmos!

Today's Nintendo Direct revealed that Katamari Damacy Reroll, the next generation of gamers, was the very eccentric and extremely Japanese action game Katamari Damacy. This marks the second time that the Katamari franchise is available on the Nintendo console.

As we could expect for a remake, the game will feature new HD graphics, but as it is on the Nintendo switch, it will take full advantage of the capabilities of the console, and I do not just mean that the game can be played on the go. Katamari Damacy Reroll will be playable with Joy-Con's gyroscopic controls or with a solo Joy-Con, and it will even take advantage of Switch's HD Rumble. Oh, and the game will come with the split screen multiplayer. Remember this old feature?

Unfortunately, we do not know much about this HD remake, apart from the multiplayer, HD graphics and motion controls mentioned above. Katamari Damacy Reroll could be just a remake of the original game, or could include new levels. It may or may not have amiibo features. The game could even include a sharing feature allowing players to show their favorite (and strangest) creations. But we do not know more details, especially if players can play with the Nintendo Switch Pro controller.

The Katamari franchise has been in hibernation for quite some time. The last good Katamari game for a home console was launched in 2009 for the PlayStation 3. After that, Namco Bandai released two applications Katamari that were not well received and a Katamari game for the PlayStation Vita. flopped.

We will have to wait until winter to see how much Katamari Damacy Reroll has or has not changed. Anyway, it's good to see such a cult game on the Nintendo Switch.
