Samsung still has a major launch to tease in 2018, as rumors suggest the company will unveil a prototype of its Galaxy F phone with a collapsible OLED screen next month. But Samsung has finished launching the flagship phones for the year. Now that everything is said and done, we can safely say that this year has been the most boring year in recent history for the world's leading smartphone company. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + were extremely disappointing, as they contained minimal improvements in the same design as last year's Galaxy S phones. These will also be Samsung's first flagship phones to integrate fingerprint sensors and triple-lens cameras in the back. On the front, the larger Galaxy S10 + also includes a dual lens camera.
The Galaxy S10 would have a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, while the larger Galaxy S10 + has a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display. It would be the biggest screen Samsung has ever included on a flagship phone. Both phones, as well as a third entry-level version of the Galaxy S10, should be powered by the next-generation 7nm processors Snapdragon and Exynos.
In terms of power and performance, we are already expecting the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + to be among the fastest phones in the world next year. But now, a new leak suggests that there is a version of the new S10 that will shine even more than the rest.
According to recent rumors, Samsung will release four different versions of the Galaxy S10 at launch. The first will be a less expensive model, similar to the iPhone XR, and the second will be the main Galaxy S10 with a 5.8-inch display. Then there would be two versions of the Galaxy S10 +, a standard model and a second version compatible with 5G. Now, a leaked document posted by a user on the Weibo Chinese microblogging platform suggests that the Galaxy S10 + 5G version will feature something else that no smartphone has ever had previously: 12 GB of RAM.
The first thing to note is the naming convention shown on the document. Earlier leaks mentioned a "Galaxy S10 Lite", the Galaxy S10 and two versions of the Galaxy S10 +. This document lists the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 + phones, then there are two versions of a "Galaxy S10 X". That said, we have often seen documents leak by wireless carriers, and other Smartphone company partners have listed incorrect phone names as placeholders. The authenticity of the document obviously can not be verified at the moment, but the user who posted it has sometimes leaked specific information.
If the leak is real, the biggest advantage to remember here is that the high-end version of Samsung's flagship Galaxy will not only make 5G compatibility a great feature, it will also have 12GB of RAM can potentially offer performance advantages over other Galaxy S10 models. It should be noted that the leak also suggests that Huawei's future P30 Pro will be available with 12GB of RAM. Unfortunately, Huawei phones are still not sold in the United States.
