Left Alive, the third-person shooter set up in the Front Mission universe, received a new release date. The title was originally scheduled to be launched in 2018, but during the PlayStation Lineup Tour preceding the Tokyo Game Show, a new release date of February 28, 2019 was confirmed. This date, however, is just for the Japanese release and a western date has not yet been revealed.

A trailer presented at the event provided new details about the game. It takes place in the fictional city of Novo Slava and takes place in December 2127. Novo Slava seems to have been ravaged by an unexpected attack and the people are just trying to survive in chaos. At one point in the video, a convicted criminal named D105U is mentioned.

"Humanity has learned nothing from its mistakes," reads a piece of text. As mentioned earlier, survival is a key element of the game, as is saving citizens, and a voice-over emphasizes it, as scenes of tech giants tear the city apart. The game will focus on several characters, all with their own perspectives on the events of the game.

"In this struggle for survival, three lives are laid bare, each with their own stories, their own missions and their own paths to salvation," says the trailer. These three characters are featured on the centerpiece of the game, created by Yoji Shinkawa, the artist best known for defining the appearance of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Shinkawa is the character designer of Left Alive.

Shinji Hashimoto, meanwhile, is the producer of Left Alive. He worked on the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises. Toshifumi Nabeshima, director of the Armored Core series, and Takayuki Yanase, designer at mech, join Shinkawa and Hashimoto. Ghost in the Shell: Get up, Mobile Suit Gundam 00and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
