LittleBits has been busy. New York-based educational material has recently announced a new Avengers-themed kit and its first acquisition. This morning, he is back with three new kits, just in time for back to school.
As the name suggests, the Basic Inventor Kit is a kind of entry level defined here for those looking to sample LittleBits modular items. At $ 100, it's one of the company's cheapest full-featured kits, containing a total of 10 bits.
There are many preconceived creations that can be created with the kit, including a robotic voice-activated hand. As LittleBits and all, builders are also encouraged to create their own vision using bits and bobs. Other possibilities include a smart lamp and an intruder alarm.
The Electronic Music Inventor Kit joins the company's Korg licensed synthesizer kit with a focus on music creation. This time, the base is a keytar, built in eight bits. Children can also break with this form factor and create other instruments such as an electronic drum kit.
At $ 130, the Space Rover Inventor Kit is the most expensive – and arguably the coolest – of the group. The planetary rover consists of 15 bits for 30 activities. This is in addition to an application used to control vehicles and provide insight into the history of the space race.
The new kits will also use online courses from JAM.com, the educational platform run by the recent DIY acquisition.
