Shared on Ben Geskin's Twitter, these images show the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in four colors: white, space gray, rose gold and red. The devices have the same rear window design as the current iPhones.
Previous reports have suggested that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is available in a handful of color options, but these images only show four of them. In the last two years, Apple has introduced red as a mid-year color option under its PRODUCT (RED) partnership, but these images suggest that the red option will be available from the first day of this year .
In addition to the colors, these images offer a glimpse of how the cheap LCD iPhone will use aluminum edges, unlike the stainless steel used by the iPhone X. We can also see the device configuration to an objective is another measure of economy for Apple.
Finally, one of the images shows the device with a dual SIM card slot. Earlier reports have suggested that this could be the year when Apple adopts dual SIM card support on the iPhone, and this image seems to corroborate that. It is however likely that the dual-SIM model of the iPhone will be limited to certain markets, as suggested by Bloomberg last month.
These images must be taken with a grain of salt and treated with skepticism. Geskin first shared them earlier this week, saying that they were fake units – which we have seen many times up to now this cycle of the iPhone. This morning, however, Geskin rebroadcast the images and said they were in fact the "real deal" and showed the 'iPhone Xc' as a prototype.
Anyway, we are only a few days away from Apple's official announcement of the 2018 iPhones. Read our full summary of everything that is expected of the event here.
