Fortnite Friday is a weekly review of what is happening in the world of Fortnite. We cover challenges of battle passes, new game modes and all the update information you need to know.

Fortnite Friday is a weekly column covering everything happening around the popular multiplayer multiplayer game, Fortnite: Royal Battle. This week, we are introducing new weapons and a brand new LTM that includes its own challenges. Exciting things happening in the world of Fortnite.

If you're a fan of the Royal Battle genre, you're probably thrilled with the "Blackout" game of the Call of Duty battle. They have posted a trailer gameplay this week, which you can view.

As always, let's start with the challenges of this week's battle pass.

Free challenges

Inflict damage with explosive weapons to opponents (0/500) – Explosive challenges seem to be a theme of this season. Maybe because this purple cube will explode and destroy the inclined turns! Oh no! (This will probably not be the case).

Get tips in a shopping cart or ATK (0/150 000) – Do not let the number fool you, it will not take long. Jump into an ATK and hit as many jumps, hills or cliffs as possible. This will be easily the most fun challenge you will make this week.

Follow the treasure map found in Shifty Shafts (0/1) – Here's the location of the map and the battle star this week. If you do not feel like watching the video, it is located on the southern part of the mountain, called the "wizard tower". It's the best I can do to explain it.

Battle challenges

Step 1/5: Find a chest in Haunted Hills (0/1) – The multi-step breast challenge is back and it's extremely easy to follow then and you'll be through all five places in no time.

Visit different stone heads (0/7) – Here's a map of all the stone heads. There are only seven, so you will have to visit them all.

Elimination of assault rifles (0/5) We have seen the number of eliminations required from three to five, but that's not a problem because the weapons used are assault rifles, which are probably the most used weapon to accumulate eliminations. Fire

Eliminate the opponents in the temple of the tomato (0/3) Tomato Temple has moved from my least favorite place on the map (as a "city") to one of my favorites. The combination of close fights, changes in altitude and the new ridiculous obsession in tomato man makes this place very entertaining.

Update Release Notes v5.4 and new LTM

Getaway LTM – The big stakes getaway LTM is the newest (and perhaps most fun) way to play Fortnite now. The goal of the game is to be one of four teams to finish the match with a precious jewel of llamas. Here's how Epic Games describes the new LTM:

Here is the plan. Four safes were loaded into drops of supply scattered around the island, each carrying a great jewel. You and your crew must locate a safe, pick up the price inside and escape with the goods while fighting against the enemies. The first four teams head to a van with a jewel and a winning getaway! Are you ready for work?

You can get more information about the game from the patch notes here, or a detailed breakdown explaining how it was played here. Try it, it's very entertaining.

The grappler – This new element allows players to compete against rocks, hills, trees, buildings, etc. The grappler is a game change and can get you in or out of the action very quickly.

Think about Link hanging in Legend of Zelda games or Spider-Man abilities. Speaking about the favorite neighborhood superhero of all, Spider-Man's latest game is proving very positive.

The revolvers are vaulted – Your favorite handgun got the safe this week and I'm sure you've really talked about it. I'm kidding, the revolvers were fine, but I do not think too many people are upset.

Changes of arms – Several modifications have been made to the scarcity and variety of different weapons. Here is a list of all:

  • Common machine gun (gray) removed
  • The rare rocket launcher (blue) has been removed
  • Epic (purple) and legendary (gold) probability of increased rocket launchers.
  • Legendary bolter-action sniper removed
  • Rare pistol removed
  • The semi-automatic sniper has declined from epic and legend to rare (green) and rare.
    • Increased the fall frequency of the semi-automatic sniper to align more closely with their rarity class.
  • Double guns have declined in the rarity of the epic and legend to rarity and the epic.
  • The suppressed pistol has decreased rarity between Epic and Legendary to Rare and Epic.
  • C4 has increased in rarity from rare to epic.

Storm wave – Here is an interesting excerpt from the release notes that you need to remember when / if you incorporate one of the last storms: destroys the structures built by the players on the wall of the storm.

Elimination of the week

This week's EOTW goes to the fan favorite, Dr. Lupo, who shows us Spider-Man skills with the new grappler. Unbelievable.
