The Funko Pop figurines came out of nowhere and flew into this gigantic sales juggernaut. With distorted interpretations of literally everything related to pop culture, I guess it was only a matter of time that we would see cereals officially labeled by the company. I did not expect Mega Man and Cuphead to get their own edible oats, however.
Coming this summer, "FunkO's" will embark on an effort to put "pleasure back at breakfast." There will be six different flavors based on a popular Funko figurine, with Cuphead and Mega Man being the only deals related to the game. You'll also find a cereal from Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Gollum (from Lord of the Rings ) to slide you even further into the rabbit hole to be obsessed with pop culture. Each box will come with a Funko mini figurine, which will not fail to bother you if you end up savoring the flavors.
For a damn reason, each grain is exclusive to a certain retailer because why put them in supermarkets? Mega Man will be available at GameStop, Cuphead will be stocked at Hot Topic, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees will be on the lookout for FYE, Gollum will be stroking rings at BoxLunch and the main "Freddy FunkO" line will be available on the Funko website. There is no price mentioned, but I can not imagine that someone would be crazy enough to charge more than $ 6 for a cereal box.
