Microsoft is going to the Gamescom in Germany next month, and they will bring at least one significant announcement with them. At a time when the generations of consoles are almost a decade, any discussion on new material is s uffisante to make ears pierce, and that's what Microsoft says come. 19659004] Microsoft has posted a blog post this morning detailing its Gamescom plans, including the following:

So, are we going to see Xbox Two for the first time?
Almost certainly not.
Unfortunately, even with the promise of new hardware, it does not seem likely that Microsoft will announce its next generation Xbox in August 2018 at Gamescom. Rumor has it that we will not see a new Xbox until 2020, and you can bet that when it's announced, Microsoft will have a dedicated event like the Scorpio project.

I know that many people love the Xbox Elite controller, which would excite the base, but probably would not do much for outsiders who would not want to pay for the expensive accessory.
Part of me is hoping that Microsoft is planning some sort of blockbuster revelation here, but I would not put money on it. We will know more in a little more than a month
