Today, Microsoft has announced a new Microsoft Cloud-based managed desktop service to help businesses stay safe and up-to-date.
Microsoft Managed Desktop (MMD) gathers Microsoft 365 Management of enterprise devices, device as a service and cloud by Microsoft. MMD is based on modern devices that meet Microsoft's specifications and performance bar. Microsoft is also leveraging the analysis to provide information and insights on operations and security, enabling Microsoft to continually monitor and improve, as well as manage the global population of MMD devices. This global view allows Microsoft, for example, to use AI to determine which devices are ready for feature updates or, conversely, whether a specific application blocks the ability to update a device.
Microsoft said customer feedback and comments were also at the heart of MMD. Microsoft has worked with Lloyds Banking Group to deploy MMD, as well as Seattle Reign FC to help Microsoft develop and develop the MMD offering. Microsoft is also partnering with key strategic partners such as Dell, HP, DXC, HCL, Computacenter and Accenture / Avanade to provide devices and experiences alongside MMDs.
Microsoft launched this service with a small number of customers in the United States and the United States, and began operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand in early 2019. From
Microsoft believes that MMD will be an option allowing organizations to fundamentally change the way they think and manage their IT. With MMD, customers will be able to evolve into a secure environment that is always up-to-date with Microsoft device management.
