Microsoft has released the coolest new Windows 10 feature of its beta – BGR

Windows Sets may sound familiar to many technology fans around the world, and especially to Windows 10 users. But not everyone can tell you what it is. And that's because Microsoft has never made the feature available to users of Windows 10.

Announced last year, Sets is probably one of the Windows features the coolest ever invented. What he does is something that looks extremely simple, on the surface. But it is also a complicated thing to remove, for the operating system, and, therefore, Microsoft.

Microsoft Sets gives you a tabbed window experience similar to the one you find in an Internet browser. The brilliance of this is that each tab should not belong to the same application. So, you could have a bunch of open applications in the same window, including browsers, Office documents, and just about anything that can work on Windows 10. So, if you've tried Sets in recent months, get ready to say goodbye now. Microsoft has pulled Sets from the latest beta, and this feature will not be available in time for the next Microsoft Windows 10 update scheduled for next fall.

Microsoft mentions exactly the same thing in the changelog released for beta build 17704:

Thanks for your continued support of the test sets. We continue to receive valuable feedback from you as we develop this feature, which allows us to offer the best possible experience once it's ready to go live. From this version, we take the Offline Sets to continue making them funky. Based on your feedback, some of the things we focus on include visual design enhancements and continue to better integrate Office and Microsoft Edge into bundles to improve workflow. If you have tested Sets, you will not see them anymore from today 's version, however, Sets will return in a future WIP flight. Thank you again for your comments.

While it may be disappointing to see the Sets go, for now, let's remember that Microsoft has never engaged in a launch time for this feature. And if Microsoft thinks the feature needs to be removed, for now, it's probably for the better.
