The ads had recently been noticed by an Italian blog, Aggiornamenti Lumia, who had said that Microsoft was testing the feature in a draft version open to Windows insiders. To lose ads, you must pay an Office 365 subscription.

Custom ads should originally come from Microsoft and appear when you used the Mail application to open non-business email accounts such as Microsoft's Outook.com and third-party vendors such as Google's Gmail or Yahoo mail.
However, Microsoft was quick to remove the test feature once the media began reporting on it. "It was an experimental feature that had never been designed for large scale testing and is disabled," said Frank Shaw, head of communications at Microsoft. tweeted Friday.
The company also extracted the official support document explaining Microsoft's decision to test the ads in the Mail application. Before it was removed, the document stated that Microsoft was testing advertisements for users based in Brazil, Canada, Australia, and India.
"Consistent with consumer messaging applications and services such as Outlook.com, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail, advertising enables us to provide, support, and enhance some of our products," Microsoft said in a statement. document.
The ads would appear in the "Other" view when you accessed your inbox. Only users of Windows Enterprise or Windows 10 Education would be exempt from viewing them.
Microsoft has not specified whether ads will be returned at a later date. But he was testing the feature for a while. In July, MSPoweruser received a screenshot showing a AncestryDNA ad broadcast in the Mail application.
Ads in online messaging services have become a common practice in the industry, but not for the operating systems. They may appear in the Start menu and in the File Explorer, even if you have paid for an installation of Windows 10. If you want to disable these suggestions, this guide can help you.
