[ad_1]

Microsoft is hosting a media event on Tuesday in New York. Described only as a "moment of your time," the event will likely focus on surface hardware, Windows 10 features, and Microsoft's new productivity to win back consumers. Microsoft Surface chief Panos Panay will be attending the event and it will be the first big Surface / Windows press event since the departure of former Windows CEO Terry Myerson over the summer. This is an opportunity for Microsoft to show the orientation of Windows, to unveil the latest Surface hardware and perhaps surprise us with something new.

Microsoft's Surface Computer needs to be refreshed and we hope to see a new model tomorrow. Microsoft will probably update the hardware inside with the latest Intel processors and hope to increase the RAM of the base model. We also hope to support USB-C devices and charging, but recent rumors suggest that neither the Surface Laptop 2 nor the Surface Pro 6 will include new USB-C jacks. There are also rumors that Surface Laptop 2 could debut in a black variant, which would mark a change from the silver color that Microsoft typically uses for Surface devices.

Microsoft's Surface Pro should also be updated and will likely be very similar to the changes made to the Surface Laptop 2. We expect to see a new model with the latest Intel processors and a black color variant. Microsoft has not generally offered color variations with the Surface Pro (as is the case with the entire Surface Laptop), so we can also see additional colors. Microsoft is in the process of revising the Surface Pro design in 2019, which means that the latter model will likely be an updated version of Surface Pro with few design changes.

It's been two years since Microsoft unveiled the Surface Studio at a press conference in New York. The software maker may be ready to unveil its successor, the stock of the current model being exhausted in the online store of Microsoft. If Microsoft has a new Studio ready, we hope to see much better specifications than the original model. Microsoft could use the latest Intel processors with an updated Nvidia graphics chip.

Microsoft will probably unveil an exact date for the Windows 10 October 2018 update for consumers. Microsoft has finished testing this update internally and should be ready to make it available very soon as long as there will be no last-minute bug.

Microsoft could unveil a Surface brand helmet at its event tomorrow. ZDNet Previously, the headset was similar to the Jabra Evolve and would be marketed for use in professional applications such as Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft could also reveal more details about its Surface Hub 2 tomorrow. The hardware includes a modular processor cartridge and the new software features do not arrive until 2020.
