A little bad
First, let's get rid of the bad news quickly. He still has the keyboard covered with fabric that some people did not like. In my opinion, this makes the Laptop Surface strangely comfortable to type, but extra care must be taken to keep it clean and crumb-free. Microsoft recommends that you wipe the keyboard with "a damp, lint-free cloth".
Another disadvantage, the Surface Laptop 2 does not come with a USB-C port, the latest standard for connecting accessories.
While Apple dropped the ball too early by incorporating USB-C, making it the only port of its recent MacBook and MacBook Pro model laptop, Microsoft runs strangely in the other direction. including no USB port.
The Surface Laptop has a standard USB port, a mini-DVI port for connecting a monitor, Microsoft's Surface Connect proprietary port for charging and a headphone jack. Your mileage may vary, but I tend to think that a USB-C plug, instead of this mini-DVI port, would have been a better balance between the old and the new.
It's also not a gaming laptop. It's more than enough for everyday tasks such as web browsing, Microsoft Office, etc., but it does not have graphic hardware for read the most expensive recent versions. Apart from my wearing problems, I really like the Surface Laptop 2.

Otherwise, there are many small improvements. The keyboard, already better than that of the latest Apple MacBook Pro, is more elastic and more responsive. The trackpad also seems to have a slightly better texture. At 2.75 pounds, the Laptop 2 is also light and thin enough to lug around.
Under the hood, he refreshed the internals, including the latest Intel processors. As for the battery, I need about six hours with many tabs open in the Microsoft Edge web browser (which is very good, still not as good as Google Chrome, but hey, with some thoughtful little touches).
The most beautiful and real thing I can say about the Surface Laptop 2 is that it's a real treat. No gadgets, no strange drawbacks. It's just a good laptop with a good keyboard and a good trackpad with good battery life, a pleasure to use.
If you need more power, I recommend the Microsoft Surface Book 2. For games, Dell, Razer and others have specially designed notebooks. For the real warrior of the road, there is the Surface Go and Surface Pro. But if you just want a good laptop that will help you do some things, especially if you're a student or a potential Apple switch, the Surface Laptop 2 is a very good option.
