First Smartwatch to Use Qualcomm's New Snapdragon Wear 3100 Processor Announced 9to5Google. The Montblanc Summit 2 is a high-end watch available from $ 995. It will benefit from many features introduced by Qualcomm's new chipset, including a low-power secondary processor (which Montblanc claims to offer a week of Only Mode) and a much richer ambient display than Qualcomm's previous hardware.
Apart from the new processor, the Summit 2 includes a significant advance in specifications compared to the original Summit. The RAM has grown from 512 MB to 1 GB, and internal storage from 4 GB to 8 GB. This hardware is housed in a 14.3 mm thick case equipped with a 1.2 screen thumb running Wear OS 2.1.
Montblanc's announcement comes on the heels of the Apple Watch Series 4, the company's best notebook for years. However, with a selling price twice that of its rival Apple in 2018, Montblanc clearly aims a completely different market, previously served by the series of Apple "Edition" watches. With the now-dead Edition line, Montblanc has much less competition. However, since Apple has failed to spark the interest of the $ 1,000 plus smart watch market with the world's most popular smartwatch, Montblanc will have to raise its own challenges.
