Motorola flagship product "Odin", Snapdragon 8150's flagship product, matures in 2019

According to a report from XDA Developers, Motorola is working on a new flagship smartphone coming out in 2019. Unlike the company's latest high-end smartphone, the next smartphone is supposed to be powered by an unexpected Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150. processor, which could be announced next month. The report further adds that the high-end device, named Odin, includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of integrated storage, while it is currently in the development phase and that it can be launched with increased RAM and storage capacity to cope with the competition. Citing its sources, the publication states that the phone will be preloaded with Android 9 Pie and that it can also support Moto Mods, which will eventually enable 5G connectivity for North Americans.

Motorola's flagship flagship smartphone would be supposed to support a future 5G Moto mod that will likely use the Snapdragon X50 modem. The Moto Z3, announced earlier this year, is an exclusive Verizon device and its follow-up should also remain the carrier's exclusive, although Motorola could also offer an unlocked variant to retail. The Lenovo-owned company would also work on software support in order to enable the fingerprint scanners under display, however, it is still not clear whether Odin will present the advanced biometric sensor or not.
