NBA 2K18 had many problems, the most important being the fact that it was riddled with microtransactions. I played 2K19 all weekend and that some problems persist at least one difference: the haircuts are now free and the new hairdresser is very aware of that.
Last year's game turned a change of hairstyle – previously a free and easy part of the personalization of the characters – into an experience that did not just bill the player's virtual currency, but did not let them see their character . get the same haircut later without reloading them again.
This was only one of the many intrusions into what is otherwise the best basketball game on the market, but it quickly became a plot point for angry fans, who rightly saw part of 2K.
Unfortunately, this year's game is still very focused on microtransactions and I will cover it once I play a little more (preliminary thoughts: they are still applied in an offensive way, but not as badly as last year ). Less laugh at this cutscene, which plays the first time you enter the neighborhood barbershop.
That's about all you will get from a major video game publisher. Having it enshrined in the game itself, and not just relegated to Ronnie's 2K Twitter, was a good idea.
Now, if we can just make the NBA Shop guy apologize for loading so many shorts, we'll be good.
