After much teasing and speculation, Blizzard revealed the following character – Hero 28 – for Overwatch. The brief teaser shows a mechanized death ball, before leaving an adorable little hamster. He is so cute! And mortal!
This revelation confirms the speculation that the next character would be another sentient animal, similar to Winston. Previous teasing saw his small apparent hamster ball rolling in the back of the other shots. It also seems to confirm that a Reddit user's speculation was just about the money, having suggested that the next character would be Hammond the Hamster.
Blizzard has not released any details on Hammond, so we are waiting to learn more about his set of exact, ultimate power and class. A recent patch unified the Offense and Defense classes into one, called Damage, and sorted Symmetra into that role. Hammond can also be a member of the Damage class.
In the meantime, we could soon get big changes in Sombra. Chief designer Geoff Goodman recently revealed internal test changes to the character that could make a huge difference in his power level, if applied throughout the game.
