Video: Microsoft reveals why some bugs are not fixed immediately.
Following the cumulative update of Tuesday's patch for the latest version of Windows, Microsoft released another update to answer a long list of issues.
Users with the Windows Update 10 April 2018, version 1803, have a new update KB4284848, which moves them to OS Build 17134.137.
The June 12 update fixed some pretty serious issues, including black screen issues, a BitLocker firmware update issue, and a problem with QuickBooks.
However, the new update fixes an issue that prevented the latest version of Chrome from running on some devices.
Google released Chrome 67.0.3396.79 in early June, but it and apparently the updates had problems reminiscent of the chrome issues that surfaced when Microsoft released the first version 1803.
The Microsoft update also includes fixes for streaming issues and media content. The HDR Video Settings streaming calibration slider did not work for some because of a "conflict with panel brightness intensity settings configured by some OEMs".
Compatibility issues were also encountered with some live streaming content providers, while some content generated by Media Center did not work after the installation of the 1803 update. These should be fixed in this release. update.
Microsoft also said that problems with the App-V platform to deliver virtual applications slowed down "many actions in Windows 10".
Two issues related to Remote Desktop are discussed in this update; they may have frustrated users trying to use remote applications.
There is no known issue in this update, but Microsoft has resolved two known issues with the June 12 update.
One caused an error message when users accessed files or executed programs from a shared folder using the SMBv1 protocol. Microsoft has stopped including it in Windows 10 by default due to security issues. The error is & quot; An invalid argument was provided & # 39 ;.
The other known bug is one that has prevented Microsoft Edge from running when it has initialized downloading of some fonts.
Finally, this update addresses performance issues with Windows Mixed Reality on some laptops with hybrid graphics adapters, such as Surface Book 2.
Users can install the update via Settings, Update and Security, Windows Update, and then select Check for Updates. Or a stand-alone package for the update is available on the Microsoft Update Catalog Web site.
Other issues discussed in this update include:
- A problem in which SmartHeap did not work with UCRT.
- An issue that prevents Appmonitor from working on logoff if the Settingstoragepath parameter is incorrect.
- A problem that prevents Appmonitor from shutting down at logon and user settings are not saved.
- An issue where client applications running in a container image do not conform to the dynamic port range.
- An issue where the DNS server may stop working when using DNS query resolution strategies with a Not Equal (NE) condition.
- A problem with T1 and T2 custom values after configuring DHCP failover.
- A problem that may prevent Microsoft Edge from functioning when it initiates the download of a font from a non-RFC compliant URL.
- An issue where some users may receive an error when accessing files or running programs from a shared folder using the SMBv1 protocol. The error is & quot; An invalid argument was provided & # 39 ;.
- A problem that causes Task Scheduler tasks that are configured with an S4U connection to fail with the error: "ERROR_NO_SUCH_LOGON_SESSION / STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT".
