If you are looking for something new to play on Nintendo Switch, you have a choice of options. In addition to the last batch of Switch Eshop contracts, a total of 30 new titles were released on the console this week, and they include some remarkable games that certainly deserve a detour.
At the top of this week's poster, Dark Souls Remastered, critically acclaimed from From Software. Initially intended to come out with PS4 and Xbox One versions as early as May, the Switch edition was delayed until October 19th. Like these versions, it includes the basic game with the DLC Artorias of the Abyss, as well as the added benefit of being able to play on the go. Switch owners can also pick up an Astora Amiibo Solar from GameStop.
Also available this week, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Ubisoft's new ultra-lively toy game. In the vein of No Man's Sky, players can pilot a spaceship into the cosmos, explore various planets and engage in aerial combat. You can also customize your ship on the fly by attaching weapons and other pieces to the action figure, which will automatically appear in the game. Finally, the Switch version features exclusive Crossover Crossover content.
Other notable outings this week include the super-villains of Lego DC; Sega's strategy RPG, Valkyria Chronicles; the shoot – em-up I Hate Running Backwards; and the action game Pizza / Titan Ultra. Sports fans will also be able to play NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, while retro fans will have two new Arcade Archives games to choose from this week: Ninja-Kid II and Strikers 1945 Plus. October was a busy month for Switch. Last week saw the release of Square Enix's cult classic, The World Ends With You: Final Remix, while Super Mario Party arrived the week before, on October 5th. Meanwhile, Splatoon 2 players can still purchase free DLC headwear; Nintendo is offering four Halloween inspired masks in the game to celebrate the Splatoween event, which will take place from October 19 to 21.
