Nintendo Switch Online is the new subscription service for the online game of many Switch games, but Nintendo is softening the pot a bit by offering a growing list of NES classics for free. This week, three other games join the lineup, as well as special backup data for one of the games previously included to give you a head start.
The NES Open Golf Tournament, Solomon Key and Super Dodge Ball join all players today. Golf is one of the first approximations of sport in video games. Solomon's Key is a puzzle game that allows you to navigate through steps with magical abilities to create blocks. Super Dodge Ball is an action sport game that pits classic gym teams, with special super-moves and environments that can affect your balance.
In addition to these additions, the update includes a special backup for The Legend of Zelda. It allows you to start a new party with the white sword, the magic shield, the blue ring, the fancy bracelet and many objects and rupees. This will give you a head start in the adventure by providing you with key elements sooner. Nintendo announces that other "special backup data" will come for other classic games.
As previously announced, the NES app will add in November Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack and Twin Bee. In December, it will include Adventures of Lolo, Ninja Gaiden and Wario Woods. The company did not announce new projects afterwards, but we have some ideas.
