Electronic Arts has released more details on its upcoming Command & Conquer remasters. In a blog post, EA began by confirming that he was remixing Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn from 1995 and Command & Conquer: Red Alert from 1996. The extensions of this game, including Covert Ops, Counterstrike and Aftermath, will be also remastered.

In his blog post, EA also pointed out that the new remasters came "without microtransactions," which seems like good news.

EA is collaborating with Petroglyph Games to develop Command & Conquer's Remastered collection, which includes Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert. The Las Vegas-based studio has a story with Command & Conquer, as some of its founding members worked on the original game at Westwood Studios before joining Petroglyph.

In his statement, EA said he hoped his partnership with Petroglyph would go a long way toward helping people feel comfortable with how the remaster collection will be handled.

"In addition to the enthusiasm and support generated by this remastering initiative over the past month, there is also a healthy skepticism that we can achieve this," EA said. "How are we going to remaster these titles while preserving the authenticity of the original experiences?" In summary, there is no better way to achieve this than to associate with certain Talented developers who brought these original games to life. "

In addition, EA also confirmed that Command & Conquer's original audio director and composer, Frank Klepacki, had returned to Petroglyph to work on the new remaster collection.

EA also recruited CG, Lemon Sky Studios, to work on the Command & Conquer remaster package. Lemon Sky has already worked on many games, including Diablo III: Eternal Collection, Spider-Man PS4, remastered StarCraft, Dead Rising 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Bloodborne, Gears of War 4 and Uncharted: The Lost. Heritage, among many others.

There is no indication yet as to when the Command & Conquer remaster collection will be launched or other key details about it, but keep checking back with GameSpot regularly. Earlier, EA announced the release of the remasters to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise, which could mean their launch in 2020.

At the E3 this year, EA announced the launch of Command & Conquer: Rivals, a free 1v1 game currently available in alpha form. A public release will come later.
