HMD Global, the licensee of the Nokia brand of phones, has announced the Nokia 7.1, a purely Android phone that raises the bar of the market for the mid-range market at an attractive price.
Unlike the Nokia 7 to China's $ 400 last year, the Nokia 7.1 arrives in the United States and Europe for around $ 350.
Like many Android phones, the Nokia 7.1 has a notch, but the 5.84-inch Full HD display of the device is not edge-to-edge due to a small frame on the bottom.
This is the latest addition to the Nokia Android One family, which includes the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus mid-range and the high-end Nokia 8 Sirocco.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 and features two Zeiss Optics rear cameras with 12 megapixel and five megapixel sensors, which support the bokeh effect.
It also has an eight-megapixel front camera and features Nokia's "bothie" images, which use front and back cameras with a new slider to adjust the split screen.
The Nokia 7.1 comes with Android Oreo but HMD said it was ready to receive Android Pie 9.0 update.
The phone has a battery of 3060 mAh, a USB type C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Despite maintaining the headphone jack, HMD Global also launched a pair of wireless headphones: Nokia True Wireless headphones and Nokia Pro Wireless headphones.
In the UK, it launches True Wireless headphones for free with Nokia 7.1 pre-orders.
The True Wireless headphones have a 3.5-hour battery life, while the cylindrical charge box contains enough charge to provide up to 16 hours of battery life, according to HMD. They connect via Universal Bluetooth 5.0 and resist splashing.
Pro Wireless headphones are connected to a neckband. It offers up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, features vibration alerts and connects via Bluetooth 4.2.
According to Android Authority, the headphones will cost around € 69, while the headphones will cost € 129 (£ 114). They will be available in the UK in November and will be available elsewhere in Europe by the end of the year.
HMD Global indicates that the overall average Nokia 7.1 prices will be $ 319 ($ 367, £ 282) for the 3GB model of RAM with 32GB while that of 4GB with 64GB will cost $ 349 ($ 402, $ 308) ).
Nokia 7.1 pre-sales are launched today in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. In the United States, it will be available on October 28 on Amazon, on the Best Buy website and on B & H. It will be available at Best Buy stores on November 4th.
