North opens first brooklyn bk 06 smart glasses store

North, the Canadian start-up formerly known as Thalmic Labs, was quick to introduce its latest wearable clothing to consumers. Less than a month after the company announced that it would begin manufacturing custom Focals smart glasses with a transparent holographic display, product showrooms have appeared in Brooklyn and Toronto.

With its $ 1,000 selling price, Focals' price rivals many top-of-the-range notebooks like the Summit Summit Mount 2. And, like the luxury smart watches, North's newest wearable allows you to perform many common tasks without having to take out your smartphone. In addition to the holographic display for displaying information, there is a built-in microphone for voice commands and an integrated ringer that allows you to interact with Focals without raising your hand.

Focals allows you to see texts and respond to them, get step-by-step instructions and even ask for an Uber. Alexa is also integrated, which means you can easily control smart devices and devices directly from smart glasses.

Focal lengths are currently available in two frame styles with three color options. The Classic option is a contemporary version of the traditional thick square frame. It will be shipped to customers in December 2018. Round is a bolder option and will be in early 2019.

If you plan to replace your usual glasses with Focals, you will have to wait a little longer. At present, Focals is only available with over-the-counter lenses. North plans to offer its smart glasses with prescription lenses in the future, but has not yet announced an official launch date for the product.

Although you can pre-order Focals online, you must go to one of the current showrooms to finalize your order. North's showrooms are the only place that can take the appropriate steps for its custom-made smart glasses. If you are not near a showroom, you have the option to book a pair of Focals with a refundable deposit and apply for a new location.

The North showrooms in Toronto and Brooklyn are now open. If you want to buy Focals, you can start the process online with a deposit of $ 100. You can also visit one of the north exhibition halls to see the mounts and experience Focals.
