The NPD group generally provides excellent monthly sales figures for the sector, including the degree of compliance of certain franchises and platforms. But the own company Mat Piscatella decided to take to Twitter share some figures from the past and give us an idea of what the top selling games have been for the Nintendo 64, the PlayStation and more.
He included some notes on the numbers, such as the name of the publisher that had been removed due to the age of the data, as well as reminding people that they were only for physical sale, not to mention digital re-editions.

Yes, Madden NFL 97 dominated the list, followed by NGHTS in dreams and Virtua Fighter 2. But there were other great leading artists like Sonic 3D Blast, Tomb Raider and…Virtua Cop!
Sony PlayStation was at the top of Mat's list, and it's great to see that Bandicoot Crash ruled with a fist.

Other favorites like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Tekken 3 found spots on the list too.
As for the Nintendo 64, it was a Nintendo with the top ten, unsurprisingly. But it was a close race between Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye 007.
