I started using a Galaxy Note 9 evaluation, see my full review on August 9th and just a month of use with him and my own phone. There was not a single day when the phone did not impress me and there is still a lot to discover by continuing to explore all its capabilities.
When our list of top 10 smartphones was updated a few weeks ago, note 9 has made its way. We know that Apple will announce a few phones this week and given all we know, the Galaxy Note 9 is likely to keep this top spot with one of the best devices for business.
Looking at the last month of use and towards the future, here are nine things I love in the Galaxy Note 9:
- S pen: The S Pen has always been the main differentiator for fans of notes and with the note 8, I used it enough to facilitate navigation and text entry, hover over messages to preview the content, Fun Live Messages and personal, rapid magnification and much more. Note 9 further extends this feature with the Bluetooth Remote Control feature. There is still more to come as Samsung will open the S Pen SDK to developers so that the S Pen is truly something unique in the world of smartphones.
- Display: The Infinity Display is the most remarkable feature of the Galaxy Note 9 and, although we may appear to be a broken record, DisplayMate continues to confirm that Samsung is setting the bar for smartphone screens. The 6.4 inches are great and I've watched more content than ever thanks to the gorgeous big screen.
- Long battery life: Samsung failed with the note 7 and was a little worried with the battery capacity Note 8. With the Note 9, Samsung has implemented everything and offers a battery of 4000 mAh which allowed me to pass through every day since I use it. I push my phones hard enough during the day and although I can not go several days, Note 9 allows me to spend a full day. The only other phone that was able to do this for me was the Huawei P20 Pro, which also has a 4000 mAh battery.
- Galaxy Applications: While Google offers basic apps on Android, I would say that Samsung's apps are better in terms of productivity, efficiency and functionality. Some argue against anything but stock market applications, but in this case, using Samsung applications on a Galaxy Note 9 is a better choice.
- Always posted: This is a subtle feature of the Note 9 that we find in a few other devices, but once you have it on a device, it's hard to get back to something like the iPhone. without the effort required of you. I also like that you can double tap on a notification to directly access the application at the origin of the notification.
- Dual rear cameras: Samsung cameras have been excellent in recent years and the 9 rating extends what was started with the Galaxy S9 Plus. In addition to the two-camera configuration, information has been added to the cameras to help you take better pictures.
- Several ways to lock your phone: With the Galaxy Note 9, you can set it to unlock it with face recognition, iris scanning, fingerprints, patterns, PIN, password and Google Smart Lock. Samsung has improved the unlocking speed with a combination of iris scanning and facial recognition, as well as moving the fingerprint scanner to the center of the back. I've never been frustrated by the grade 9, while the 8th grade has regularly irritated with his off-center finger scanner.
- Wireless performance: I have tested several smartphones in the last few months during my daily routine and, while the Huawei P20 Pro was coming out of the Galaxy Note 9 when it comes to RF signal strength, speed tests revealed that Note 9 the doors of the P20 Pro. Samsung devices are known for their reception and outstanding performance, two extremely important elements for the best smartphone experience. Too often, signal strength and performance are neglected.
- Samsung DeX: People are using their smartphones for everything and, thanks to the improvements of Samsung DeX, check out our comprehensive Reference Guide, the reality of using your phone as your only computer is about to be realized. A DeX docking station is no longer needed. All you need to do is connect an HDMI cable. The experience has been improved compared to Samsung devices and there are very few limitations to the completion of the work.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is about as perfect as a smartphone that you can find. Honestly, I can not think of something missing, which I can not say about other recent flagship projects. The Note 9 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD expansion card, an amazing dual camera and so much more. I carry it as the only device and thanks to the big battery, I do not even have to worry about trying to find a charger all day long.
I continue to explore Bixby because I think it could be a valuable service for Note 9, but I'm not there yet because I have not found the time to focus solely on Bixby experience. Even without Bixby, nothing beats the note 9.
