OnePlus 6T coming with a bigger battery but will it make a difference? | technology

The highly anticipated OnePlus 6T is expected to be launched in India next month. Before the launch, OnePlus has already confirmed some features. For example, the latest OnePlus flagship phone will ship without a 3.5mm headphone jack and will depend on the USB Type-C port for an audio experience.

The latest leak of OnePlus 6T reveals that the phone will come with a larger battery at 3700 mAh. That's about 10% more than the OnePlus 3300 mAh battery with fast support. In theory, OnePlus 6T should have the biggest battery of all OnePlus smartphones.

But do bigger batteries mean significantly better performance? Well, it has a lot to do to maximize battery life with a combination of software and hardware. This is how Apple has provided decent battery life on its iPhone despite a disappointing mAh capacity.

In the case of OnePlus 6T, a minor increase of 10% should mean some extra hours of extra backup. What works for OnePlus is the fast charging technology, which can quickly charge the phone in minutes.

That said, it will be interesting to see how OnePlus supports the largest battery without changing the form factor. Most of the time, the brands fit into larger batteries but eventually make the phones heavier or thicker. The trend is however changing. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which is almost the same size as the Note 8 but has a bigger battery.

OnePlus 6T: specifications, renderings and more

OnePlus 6T has already made several appearances online. It was recently featured in a TV commercial showing the rear panel of the device, revealing a two-camera configuration more flat. The TVC also confirms more or less the arrival of on-screen fingerprint technology. This feature allows users to unlock the phone by simply tapping the screen.

OnePlus 6T also made an unofficial appearance through renderings via OnLeaks. The renderings suggest a slimmer and premium design. On the front, the OnePlus 6T has a drop-shaped notch. It also reveals a glass-metal combination.

The other expected specifications of the OnePlus 6T are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB / 8GB RAM and Android Pie ready to use. The phone would also have better camera capabilities.
