OnePlus, a Chinese manufacturer of smartphones and a subsidiary of BKK Electronics, also owns the brands Oppo and Vivo, would work on the OnePlus 6T. According to the company's launch records, it can be assumed that the smartphone will be launched in the last quarter of this year. The phone would feature a fingerprint sensor and a larger screen with a small notch (Waterdrop design), according to an alleged sales box that recently leaked.
Although OnePlus is an independent entity, reiterated by the company's CEO, Carl Pei, on many occasions, it is inspired by its sister companies Oppo and Vivo in terms of design and features of its smartphones. However, unlike Oppo and Vivo, OnePlus still favors high-end hardware with its smartphone.
The OnePlus 6T should be inspired by Oppo R17 Pro, recently launched in China. The Oppo R17 Pro sports a 6.4-inch massive AMOLED display with a tiny notch based on the design of water drops. The phone has a built-in fingerprint sensor, which is part of Vivo Premium smartphones in India, including Vivo X21, Vivo Nex and Vivo V11 Pro, recently launched. These features of the R17 Pro should also be part of the OnePlus 6T.
Interestingly, the Oppo R17 Pro also sports a three-camera configuration in the rear. The OnePlus 6T should also have a three camera module, but the configuration of the lenses would be different. Other technical specifications include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC (SoC), combined with at least three different RAM and storage configurations – 6 GB / 64 GB, 6 GB / 128 GB and 8 GB / 256 GB. The phone should also have an upgraded version of the Dash Charge technology.
While the above features could make room for the OnePlus 6T, what we would like to see in the next flagship midrange product is a stereo speaker configuration, a water and dust resistance ( IP68) and wireless charging capabilities.
