OnePlus 6T global launch event: OnePlus 6T will launch globally at an event being held in New York on October 29, which is today. The upcoming flagship smartphone will bring modifications from the previous iterations of the phone, with the smaller waterdrop style notch, as well as the Screen Unlock feature, among other changes. OnePlus 6T will launch today at an event in New York. The OnePlus flagship will be unveiled by a keynote address set to begin from 11 am local time, or 8.30 pm IST. The OnePlus 6T launch event will have a livestream, that will be available from the OnePlus website, as well as the OnePlus YouTube channel.

OnePlus 6T global launch: Expected price, specifications

OnePlus 6T is set to better its predecessor, OnePlus 6, in many aspects. Featuring a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, the flagship will sport a waterdrop notch design on top. The phone will be based on OxygenOS over and above Android 9 Pie, and OnePlus 6T will run the Snapdragon 845 processor, backed by a 3700mAh battery.

A feature to be debuted at the launch event is the in-display fingerprint scanner, that will replace the fingerprint scanner that features on the back of OnePlus 6. With OnePlus 6T, one would be able to experience ‘Screen Unlock’, through which the finger can be placed on the display to unlock the device. The phone is expected to come with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM, that would be paired with 64GB/128GB/256GB storage variants.

In terms of camera, OnePlus 6T will continue with the dual rear camera configuration seen on OnePlus 6T. This will be a 16MP+20MP combination, that will be vertically stacked at the centre. OnePlus 6T could sport a 20MP front camera, compared to the 16MP version on the earlier variant. The design changes on this phone include the absence of a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as of a 3.5mm headphone jack. For the latter, OnePlus is set to introduce new Bullets Wireless headphones.
