There’s less than a week to go until the new OnePlus 6T will be revealed to the world.

The Chinese technology firm had originally scheduled an event for Tuesday, October 30 but with Apple announcing a major reveal on the same day, the OnePlus 6T release will now take place on Monday, October 29.

The grand unveiling of this new smartphone is happening at a keynote in New York and there’s plenty to look forward to.

We already know that this new flagship will include an embedded fingerprint scanner under the display.

This means users will be able to unlock the phone via a simple tap on the screen.

Another official announcement that’s already been made is that the 6T won’t have a headphone port.

Although some may be unhappy about this decision it could mean this new device gets some new technology crammed inside including a much bigger battery.

All will be revealed on Monday and it seems fans won’t have long to wait to pick one up.

The company has just revealed how people can be the first in Europe to buy a OnePlus 6T at its pop-ups on 31st October.

“It’s always exciting to see so many passionate people coming to our pop-ups, and we’re always working to make the OnePlus experience better in every way, from our devices through to our events,” said OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. “I’m really looking forward to seeing what people think of the OnePlus 6T.”

OnePlus says that stock will still be limited, so people are advised to come in advance to secure their OnePlus 6T.

There will also be a chance to get limited additional goodies, which vary by country and include earphones, tote bag, phone case, laptop sleeve, t-shirt, baseball cap, energy drink, and…the highly sought-after classic OnePlus backpack.

This latest release news comes after OnePlus made a big commitment to the future of itssmartphones.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has announced the company’s intention to be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to deliver commercial 5G smartphones.

OnePlus’ R&D teams began 5G projects in 2016, and were officially joined by Qualcomm in 2017.

The two companies have worked closely together to research 5G hardware and network architecture.

This led to a landmark in August 2018, the OnePlus R&D team successfully established a 5G connection to Qualcomm’s laboratory based in the United States.

Speaking about the news Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, said, “As OnePlus is at the forefront of technology and innovation, we hope to continue breaking barriers and be the first to release a phone which supports 5G.”

5G is the future of connected technology with it able to allow devices to connect to the web at speeds of around 1Gbps which is 100 times faster than 4G.

However, some experts are speculating that speeds of 10Gbps are possible which would allow consumers to download movies in the blink of an eye.
