OnePlus 6T Review – Business Insider

Like many other phone makers, when display screens became narrower, OnePlus moved its fingerprint sensors to the back of its phones. With the OnePlus 6T, the sensor has been moved forward, despite its narrow frames. Indeed, the OnePlus 6T is the first smartphone available for purchase in the United States with a hidden sensor "in-display". Yes, it's under the screen.

The real selling point here is not that it's the first fingerprint sensor built-in on the screen, but rather that it's back to the front of the phone on the OnePlus 6T. I really appreciate the ability to unlock the OnePlus 6T when it lies flat on a table without having to take it in the back to look for a fingerprint sensor on the back.

This works surprisingly well for a first-generation effort on the integrated fingerprint sensor. Direct sunlight causes me some problems, due to the operation of the integrated fingerprint sensors on the screen. They focus the light around the sensor and finger to recognize your fingerprints, and intense external lighting apparently has a negative effect on that.

When I faced this problem on a sunny day, the OnePlus 6T's extremely quick unlocking of the face took over and unlocked the phone without any problem. This is an excellent backup if you wish, or a great option to unlock the phone as well.

I must mention that the bright and vivid light that comes from the fingerprint sensor on the screen is uncomfortably bright in a dark room or when you are in bed going to bed. This is something you can avoid by setting your home as "place of trust" in the Android menu, just avoid using the fingerprint sensor in the dark.
