OnePlus 6T will have a fingerprint sensor in the screen

The next OnePlus 6T from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus will come with an integrated fingerprint reader, making it a quick alternative to unlocking facial recognition.

The OnePlus 6T arrives in the United States via T-Mobile in October and will likely be the first widely available phone in the United States with a fingerprint reader inside the screen.

The smartphone is expected to cost around $ 500 to $ 600, offering a cheaper alternative to Apple's and Samsung's flagship products, but still with Qualcomm's best-in-class Snapdragon processor, tons of RAM and decent cameras.

OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 6T digital fingerprint reader on the ZDNet partner site, CNET.

"We unlock our phones several times a day, and unlocking the screen reduces the number of steps to complete the action," OnePlus told CNET.

"By adding this feature to other display unlocking options such as face unlocking, users will have the ability to unlock the screen in the most efficient way for them."

The on-screen fingerprint sensor is currently available on Vivo and Huawei phones, but sales of these are aimed at Asian consumers.

An image of the OnePlus 6T package fleeing on Weibo last week suggested that the device would feature a fingerprint reader on the screen.

The main advantage of this feature is that users can unlock the device without picking up the phone. Users can simply tap the screen.

According to CNET, the OnePlus 6T will be 0.45 mm thicker than the OnePlus 6, which was equipped with a fingerprint reader at the back.
