OnePlus begins deployment of its custom version of Android Pie

A little more than a month after the official release of Android Pie, OnePlus is deploying its version of the update to the OnePlus 6. OxygenOS 9.0, the operating system of Google, brings the same improvements that Android, including an interface, gestural navigation and adaptive battery functionality.

The speed with which OnePlus rolled out this update is impressive, as many manufacturers can take months to update the latest version of Android, if they do. Less than 15% of devices run Android Oreo last year, leaving Nougat 2016 as the most popular version of the software. Google's latest attempt to solve the problem of fragmentation is called "Project Treble" and could explain the speed with which OnePlus released this latest update.

OnePlus also brings the features of Pie to a wide range of its phones. The company announced that it would eventually update the OnePlus 5 and 5T versions of 2017, as well as OnePlus 3 and 3T 2016. Yes, that means the oldest phone to get an Android Pie update to date is a OnePlus device.
