OnePlus is working on a OnePlus 6 follow-up, the OnePlus 6T. The latest smartphone of the company should be launched in October. In an interview with TechRadar, Carl Pei, CEO of OnePlus, confirmed that the "next OnePlus handset" would not be equipped with a universal and universally compatible audio jack. The company went from a metal device with thin glasses and a headphone jack to a fragile glass device, yet another notch design, and now no headphone jack.

An overwhelming majority of 88% of the 19,000 participants said they wanted the headphone jack. Of course, this was done to promote the OnePlus 6, which had a headphone jack, but at some point in the last six months, OnePlus decided that this return was not important. The supposed compromise is a longer battery life, which is certainly something we will test when the OnePlus 6T comes out.
