Esports in India accelerates and receives all the attention that it deserves. This is partly due to the growing popularity of the game in general, with games such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or the most recent, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. A happy event occurred earlier this year when the global sports giant OpTic Gaming announced that it would form an Indian team against strikers: Global Offensive. However, the moment was short-lived as the Indian team was disqualified.
OpTic India's CS: GO eSports team was disqualified from the 2018 eXTREMESLAND finals in Asia following the use of a suspicious program in the Kumawat Kumawat playoff round. The OpTic India team was playing against the Vietnamese revolution when the B5 anti-cheat platform reported an unauthorized program running in the background on the Kumawat system.
Initially, at the request of the chief administrator of eXTREMESLAND, Kumawat denied the administrator access to his gaming platform. The administrator then asked to Kumawat to maintain alt-tab, which revealed an unknown program running in the background.

Although Kumawat was able to remove the program from his system before the administrator could stop it, after an intensive investigation, the team was able to recover it. However, the program was not launched after the recovery, suggesting to investigators that the PC in question had also been responsible for hacking. The observations made by the administrators and the red flag of the anti-cheat platform were considered important for the organizers to call for disqualification.
As a result, the Vietnamese Revolution team got a free pass for the next game, COD: Black Ops 3, where it will face Malaysia, FrostFire.
As for Kumawat, this is not the first time he has been caught cheating in a gaming tournament. Previously, his Steam account was banned from using hacks and the ban imposed by Valve's anti-fraud system (VAC) was imposed on him. He was also called by other eSports players.
While OpTic India has reiterated its position on cheating, the moment is really sad for the game in India. A market where video games are expected to surpass $ 180 million this year, such events tarnish the integrity of the players as a whole and also paint the community in a bad light. That said, OpTic India is not moving and has terminated Kumawat's contract.
OpTic was founded in 2006. It's the Indian CS: GO team that was first announced in June as part of the Infinite eSports and Entertainment holding company to extend the OpTic brand to the international markets. OpTic Brasil, OpTic Mexico and OpTic South Asia were also part of this initiative. The organization has electronic sports teams for popular games such as Call of Duty, Gears of War, Overwatch and the famous Battle Battle PUBG game.
