While the next entry in "Super Smash Bros." The franchise does not reach the store shelves until December 7, Oregonians will have a glimpse of the fighter when the company will bring it to the Autzen stadium in Eugene on September 22.

Nintendo announced Wednesday that it is taking "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" on the road for a university tour that begins in the Beaver State when Oregon faces Stanford and ends Nov. 24 at the Michigan-Ohio State match in Columbus.

The event is free and will feature six gaming stations where players will battle like Nintendo characters, classic heroes like Mario and Link to newcomers like the Inklings of the "Splatoon" series and the villagers of "Animal Crossing".

While the September 22 meeting will be the first real test for Mario Cristobal's Ducks as they face their first Pac-12 team, the latest "Smash Bros." Nintendo's gaming press has already made its entrance.

Nintendo showed the game at industry events and fans like E3 in Los Angeles, Comic Con San Diego and PAX West in Seattle. (First impressions: it's good.)

"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" will be released on Nintendo Switch on December 7th.
