Our clearest look on the OnePlus 6T – the triple camera and the fingerprint scanner in display

[ad_1]

If you've followed OnePlus closely over the years, you probably know that the designs they make are often "borrowed" from Oppo phones. I say borrowed, not stolen, because Oppo is actually the parent company of OnePlus, so the sharing of designs between devices is nothing exceptional.

The two most recent examples are the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 6, both very similar to two Oppo phones, respectively the Oppo R11 and Oppo R15. But this trend goes back to For example, the original OnePlus One shares many common features with the Oppo Find 7, while the OnePlus X is almost a mirror image of the Oppo 5 mirror.
With this in mind, and with growing evidence of the existence of the OnePlus 6T, we recently reviewed the Oppo R17 phone, the most likely to donate its design to the upcoming OnePlus phone. Quite surely, our suspicions were confirmed when a OnePlus 6T box, supposedly legitimate, leaked online, showing an illustration of the phone, with a small notch "water drop" and the most exciting, a scanner fingerprints.

Given all this, we can say that we have a pretty good idea of the appearance of the OnePlus 6T, here:

OnePlus 6T rendering based on preliminary information about the device

All signs indicate that the OnePlus 6T and the Oppo R17 share many design features, including the teardrop-shaped notch, which seems to accommodate a single front-facing camera, as well as the fingerprint reader on the screen. Although many people are sure to be annoyed by the notch, they are much smaller than those of the OnePlus 6, and many of our readers seem to prefer the shape of the drop to the iPhone style notches. Saw that on the 6T, the notch is literally there to house the snapper selfie and nothing else (the earpiece is actually above the camera, embedded in the bezel itself), it is logical that it is so small. The design does not bother us, but we would also like to note that the OnePlus 6T will probably have a bit of chin. Nothing shocking like on some other Android phones, but significantly bigger than the bottom frame of the OnePlus 6.

Will the OnePlus 6T have three cameras?

The OnePlus 6T can have three cameras at the back

One of the unanswered questions that still surround the OnePlus 6T is the number of cameras it will have. The Oppo R17 is available in two models: a basic version with two cameras on the back and a Pro model with a triple camera, the Huawei P20 Pro style. If we rely on the model followed by OnePlus over the years, we would say that the OnePlus 6T can be a triple camera phone. We think this could be the case, because in the past, OnePlus has always borrowed the design and specifications of high-end Oppo phones, and has even exceeded expectations in terms of specifications.
The OnePlus 5T, for example, borrowed the design and size of the Oppo R11 but doubled the RAM to 8 GB, even beating the Oppo R11, which offered 6 GB of RAM. The OnePlus 6 has followed the same pattern, resembling the Oppo R15, but offering more RAM. With this in mind, we believe that it is highly likely that the OnePlus 6T inherits the triple camera of the Oppo R17 Pro.

The R17 Pro's three-cam configuration includes a 12MP sensor with an af / 1.5 lens, a 20MP sensor with an af / 2.4 lens, and a third additional camera to measure flight time (ToF). ) functions.

What do you think of the OnePlus 6T so far? Do you mind? What about cameras? Would you prefer a three-cam configuration with a better depth measurement, or do you agree with "just" two? Tell us in the comments below!
