Overwatch PTR disabled Reinhardt, but added new visual effects for shields

If you play Overwatch's public test domain, you may have noticed that Reinhardt did not show up. This is because the hero brandishing the hammer has been disabled on the PTR to avoid accidents.

As players test Torbjorn's new work, altering the operation of his turret and removing the recovery system, Reinhardt was put on the ice. DblTap reported on Saturday that Blizzard developers had explained that it had been disabled on the PTR due to server failure issues.

"Hey everyone," wrote Overwatch developer Romain Dijoux in a post on Overwatch forums. "Like my colleague Bill [Warnecke, lead software engineer] noted in another post, Reinhardt is currently disabled on the PTR because of a server crash that may occur when it is used. "

Dijoux wrote that the team hopes to have a solution for Reinhardt early next week.

In the meantime, the PTR also tests new visual effects for shields, DblTap reports. Characters like Orisa, Brigitte and Winston all have flashing effects on their shields as the health of the shields becomes weak.

In the meantime, this is probably the right time to go on the PTR to see the major changes happening in Torbjorn, which now has a new capability called Overload. Naturally, all the elements of the reshuffle characters are likely to change, but Torb has some important changes to make.
