The Halloween event of Overwatch is live with the update to version 2.52 on PS4, in addition to PC and Xbox One. The official October 9 update is Halloween Terror and features many new skins.
Overwatch: Origins Edition is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Like all October updates since their release, this month is another Halloween themed event that adds new skins and content to the game.

GENERAL
- Updated audio mix to add clarity and dynamics to all sounds in the game
Developer Feedback: We've added more heroes and features to the game. The audio mix has become more complex, which has forced us to rebalance the sounds in the game. In this update we've expanded the range of third-person weapon sounds, increased the range of first-person weapon impacts in the world and, generally, third-person footsteps and balanced ability sounds.
GENERAL
- Updated visuals for all shields and barriers to improve readability
- Health bars of enemies will now be visible to players if an entity creates damage to an enemy.
BRIGITTE
Developer Feedback: The health of Brigitte's barrier was extremely difficult for most heroes to deal with, especially as she was getting closer to her targets. This change still allows Brigitte to survive in a substantial way, but should also be more rewarding for the opponents who put her under pressure.
BARRIER SHIELD
- Shield health reduced from 600 to 500
DOOMFIST
Developer's comment: Doomfist wants to get closer to his enemies, but the gap between his Hand Cannon was small enough to cause surprising damage at great distances, especially against bigger targets. This change aligns his weapon with other shotgun type weapons by reducing his damage beyond 15 meters.
HAND GUN
- The damage starts now at 15 meters
McCree
Developer Feedback: Previously, McCree's Combat Roll's cooldown was too restrictive, which sometimes prohibited players from using it. The new, faster recharge time offers more flexibility to choose between using it for mobility or instant recharging.
COMBAT ROLL
- Cooldown reduced from 8 to 6 seconds
Pharah
Developer Comments: We wanted to increase the responsiveness of our Pharah rocket launcher, as one second of full recovery between shots made it slow. To balance the improved recovery time, we transferred some damage from the rocket explosion to the direct impact damage. The overall damage potential is now increased when landing direct hits and slightly decreased if it is only explosive damage. We reduced the recoil caused by each explosion because it was very difficult to target Pharah with rockets arriving at a faster pace. Concussion blast cooldown reduction should allow for closer synchronization with Jump Jet cooldown when used for mobility.
CONCUSSIVE BLASSE
- Charging time reduced from 12 to 9 seconds
ROCKET LAUNCH
- Increased attack speed
- Reduced recovery time between shots from 0.9 to 0.75 seconds
- Redistributed damage between explosion and impact
- Reduced explosion damage from 80 to 65
- Impact damage is increased from 40 to 55
- Decline of the explosion reduced by 20%
- Automatic reversal increased by 25%
MEI
GENERAL
- Visual effects updated for all abilities
Orisa
Developer's comment: Orisa spends a lot of time firing her Fusion Driver from a relatively immobile place. The value of the weapon's spread gave him the impression that he was too random to target targets from a distance, given the time the projectiles traveled. We narrowed the gap slightly, which should leave him with almost unchanged damage potential, while giving him a better feel of hitting more distant targets.

Developer Comments: Torbjörn was originally designed to be a specialized hero, intended to be a strong defensive option because of his abilities to generate armor and his ability to control areas with his turret. However, scrap collection and Armor Pack mechanisms have posed gambling problems because of their nature, their feast or their famine. To make it more flexible in a wide variety of situations, we've removed the recovery system, simplified turret deployment, replaced the Armor Pack capability with Overload, a powerful auto-buff, and turned the Molten Core into a powerful new denial zone ultimate ability.
